This visa supports Thailand's commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and fostering international academic collaboration.

The RS Visa is ideal for researchers, professors, scientists, and academic professionals who have been invited by or are collaborating with Thai research institutions and universities.

Purpose of Visit

  • Scientific Research: Conducting research projects at Thai universities, research centers, or government institutions.
  • Teaching: Teaching at Thai academic institutions in science, technology, engineering, or related fields.
  • Training: Participating in or conducting training programs at research facilities.
  • Academic Collaboration: Collaborative research projects between Thai and foreign institutions.

Documents Needed

  • Completed visa application form.
  • Official letter from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) or the sponsoring institution.
  • Passport with at least 6 months validity.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs.
  • Confirmed travel booking and proof of accommodation.
  • Financial proof of at least 30,000 THB.
  • Research proposal or outline of the academic project.
  • Curriculum vitae (CV) detailing academic qualifications and research experience.

Validity

  • Single Entry: 3 months from the date of issue. Stay up to 90 days.
  • Multiple Entry: Up to 1 year from the date of issue.
  • Extensions available based on the duration of the research project.
  • 90-day reporting is mandatory for all RS visa holders.
